MPEG 2 renders are white w/choppy sound!
We will be uploading to DGFastchannel who has provided specs but no templates or help in checking to be sure we send the right thing.
Our outsource guy has said that only Episode Pro has seemed to ‘pass’ their tests in receiving files. To be complete, DG did mention two other software titles but all are pricey.
I’m amazing that neither FCP nor Compressor can deliver in an acceptable broadcast format, but regardless, a couple of things we are able to do in CS3 made us happy but renders are white (no video) and the audio is choppy.
These are the specs required and we’ve found most of them within AECS3 so we want to try and see where we’ve gone wrong to get white renders:
Encoding MPEG-2 Preferred 18 Mb/s
Scanning 480 60i (upper field first)
Pixel Aspect Ratio 0.9
Aspect Ratio 4×3
Chroma 4:2:2
(MP@ML) (720×512)
GOP All Allowed, IBBP preferred
Frames per second 29.97 (NTSC)
Stream Type Program Stream
Audio-MPEG-1, Layer 2 384kb/s Stereo
Audio-Dolby AC3 NA
Digital Audio Level* -20dBfs
Luminance Level Max 100 IRE
Chroma Level Max 120 IRE
Setup level 7.5 IRE
Timecode Not UsedSo.. we’ve set all those parameters (w/exception of luminance and Chroma level Max as we’re not sure where/how to do that in AE)
Thanks for any insight
