Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy MPEG-2 encode

    Hi,

I’ve been requested to encode a film using an encoder on a PC, so obviously this means transferring the film across from Mac.

The encoder reads .movs but I was wondering how I should export the film from Final Cut Pro (6) to make sure I get best quality?

    Hi Johny,
Just make sure that is compressed with a QT codec that QT for Windows can read.
There are some codecs that there are not PC compatible.

    Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1
    G5 2x2Gh 4GbRAM-BlackMagic Extreme
    PMBP 17″Core2Duo 4GbRAM-AJA ioHD
    JVC DTV-17″
    SONY EX-1 . SONY PD170
..and always a big mess on top of the table.
