It is my understanding in the lastest version of FCP I should be able to export to MPEP 2 by going to Quicktime Convertion and selecting it in the drop down menu. I only see MPEG 4 (of the mpeg family) in the drop down, along w/ the other array of choices. I have been told that since I don’t have DVD Studio Pro installed, that is the reason why I’m not seeing this option. TRUE? FALSE? Is the best way to get GOOD mpeg 2 results vs. the compressor?

    Many thanks.

    Your understanding is wrong.
    Read the doc here:
    https://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301871

What you want to do is select File/Export/QuickTime Movie. Drag that file into Compressor and select your settings. There are more details involed but that is the basics.

Speaking of the devil… then how does one go about exporting (say 18 different sequences) using batch export if MPEG2 is no longer an option. As far as I can figure, I can’t set Compressor to batch export more than one sequence. Is that correct? Seems like a giant step back.

    Thanks in advance.

Simply select all the sequences you want to export and control-click on them in your bin. select export using compressor. They’ll all show up in the compressor window.

Thanks for the fast response, Peter! I sort of figured it out as you replied. … still learning my way around in FCP.

I have 18 DVDs to burn, all the same except one stinking end title of different phone numbers. Is there any other short cuts to automate such tasks?

    Thanks.
