Got an MPEG-1 file from a regular Joe Schmo’s home video for a project I’m doing. I can’t drag this into Final Cut Pro 6 even using Log and Transfer. I tried to convert with Compressor but this was the first time I’ve ever used the program. Don’t know much about Log and Transfer either.

Anyone with a thought on what to do? We’re thinking of maybe burning to DVD and then inputting as a non-controllable device. Obviously we’d like to do this higher quality than that.

    MPEG Streamclip can transcode it.
