    Hello everybody.

Here I have two Questions about Compressor:

    1.-
I have to make this little MPEG-1 video for a bank cash dispenser. My client specifies that the bit rate must be 1.140.000 bits p/s. The quality I get using this bit rate is just awful. Is this rate to low and I must use a higher one?, must I tell this to my client?

    2.-
The MEPG-1 preset in Compressor does not allow me to change the frame dimensions of the video. The option to do this exists but it´s blocked. How can I change the frame dimension using MEPG-1 preset?

Thanks and have a good day.

Compressor only makes MPEG-1 that conform to the DVD spec. No choices for customization.

Some other 3rd party compression programs offer choices.

MPEG-1 is usually a fixed dimension and terrible quality. What you are seeing is probably accurate.

You can change the MPEG-1 settings by copying it. The data rate is pretty limited and the default is the usual rate used for VCD that MPEG-1 is usually used for.

    All the best,

And, if you are working with interlaced footage, don’t forget to de-interlace.
