hey, I have a new digital camera that automatically formatts videos to mp4s. but when i try to edit them in premiere pro CS3, they wont import. it says file type not supported. Is this true? is there a way I can Make it support it? or is my system just messed up?

It probably is true. Basically, I would get a copy of Quicktime pro and export to QT animation or any other format that doesn’t affect the quality too much.

Occasionally I can get Premiere to import a funky mp4 by changing the file extension from .mp4 to .mov, though this may or may not work in your case.

I believe you can also change the filetype through Quicktime.
