I’m rendering some high school baseball (lots of movement) video (sd) in Vegas 9.0C. What I’m noticing is that occasionally I’m getting a horizontal interference that lasts for just a quick flash. When I render the same file to avi everything looks fine.

My render settings are: MainConcept AVC/AAC (*mp4) NTSC Square pixel (640×480) Allow source to adjust frame size=off Profile=Baseline Frame rate=30.000000 Allow source to adjust frame rate=on Pixel aspect ratio=1.0000 Number of reference frames=1 Use deblocking filter=off Variable bit rate of 6,000,000 max, 2,000,000 Average Under the “Project” tab the video rendering is set to “Best”

I’ve tried higher settings for the bit rate and turned on two pass with no real quality change.

FYI–this video is for posting on Youtube.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Dave P.

Side Note–After rendering to an mp2 the video was fine. So it seems that the mp4 format or the render settings are what are causing the problem.

    Thanks

If you are posting to YouTube use one of the Internet presets under Sony AVC. These are design for sites like YouTube and require no tweaking. Just use them as is or lower the bitrate if the file size is too big.

Hi John, I tried the Sony AVC settings as you suggested, but ended up with the same problems. I’m not sure what the deal is.

    Thanks

If it only happens with MP4 and not MPEG2 it may be a bug. You might want to contact Sony and see what they say.

    hi!
i had this problem i have sorted it out by increasing the bit rate (bps)…keep it around 6,000,000
the file size will increase but nominally.
try it out and let me kno if it helped 🙂
