I have a .mp4 video that when I play with quicktime looks fine. As soon as I pull it into Vegas (no settings changes etc) the quality is poor meaning that the images are blurred/fuzzy/hard to see. Help!

Where did the file originally come from?
How large (in pixels) is it?

I just jing screen capture software to take a video of a software program on my computer. Like I said, the quality is fine when I play it back in QuickTime before bringing it into Vegas.

It’s 2.13 MB and I’m not sure how to find out the pixel size.

What screen capture program is it?
Can you save it another format besides mp4?
To find out what size it is, right-click on the file while it’s in the Project Media tab in Vegas and select Properties.
About 1/2 way down this window is “Attributes”.
    What does it say there?

Thanks – here is what attributes said: 22,050 Hz, 16 Bit, Mono, 00:00:58;28

I can’t save it in another format. I was using the free version which created .smf files but Vegas didn’t support them so I bought the pro version which has .mp4 files. I think something must be happening when I bring the file into the project media folder in Vegas.

Those are the audio attributes, not video.
Where the mouse is pointing is what I mean.

    Mike,

Thank you for all of your patience and help. These should be the attributes you’re looking for: 1438x868x24, 00:00:58;28

    Thanks!

    Julie, that should look OK.
