  • MP4 import – audio extremely shortened and sped up

I’ve imported a long .mp4 into Premiere and have a consternating problem: The audio is significantly shorter than the video, and is subsequently sped up and therefor incomprehensible.

    Thoughts?

Strangely enough, I have run into the opposite – the video flew by while the audio played normally.

I pulled that puppy into Media Encoder, converted to another file type and moved on.

Is there a mismatch between the audio khz of the sequence and the clip?
Failing that, you could try Compressor like Jon suggested, but maybe just export the audio – then you won’t be degrading the video and it’ll be quicker.
    Good luck
