    Hey all,
    To anyone who works with HD mxf/mp4 files rendered in Vegas, have you found a solution to viewing thumbnails in win explorer?

    My files are named quite well, but its much easier to “just look”.

    thanks!

    Hi;

    You are in for a bit of a struggle. I can’t get them to work, although I know “in theory” what is needed. I have not tried that hard.

    First, you have to have codec installed that understands the format of the video. FFDshow has a bunch and is pretty good, but I don’t use it. I’ve grown spoiled by VLC which has some magical way of displaying video even when there are no codecs of the needed type installed on the system.

    BUT – even after you get the codec working (one way to tell is that Windows Media Player will play the video) you still might need to tweak the registry.

    Here is a link to one of many, many discussions about this on the ‘net:

    Good luck! If you get it to work let us know.
