MP3’s on Vegas 6
My friend is having some problems with Vegas 6, DVD Architect 3.0, and Soundforge 8.0. He assures me that all his copies are legal and he thinks that all his plug-ins are there and active. He can’t seem to get any of these programs to recognize MP3’s. He says sometimes Vegas 6 will recognize them, but when he tries to open them Vegas says that the file is not recognize the file format then the program will not recognize MP3’s anymore. Has anyone heard of this problem before and if you have does anyone know what the solution is. I told him that I would check this forum for any solutions. Thanks for your help.

Are these VBR encoded MP3 files? I don’t believe Vegas works with VBR encoded MP3 files. Can you use some other program to convert them to WAV?

From what he tells me they won’t work with any mp3 files. When he checks the the file list for importing files Mp3’s are not even listed as an option for him to open. I’ll check to see if he has another program to convert his mp3 files to wav files. It’s odd because no that I have talked to as of yet has ever seen this problem before.
