I have 2 tracks. Video 1 and Video 2. I want to move video 1 above video 2 (currently it is below). Probably a dumb question, but how do I do that? Also, I have, say 1 video track. When I drag the Source video over to the sequence, it creates a new trcak. Cool. But it’s always above the other track. I want it below. Is that possible (with some key combination)?

    Thanks!

I think that if you keep the CTRL (or the command) key depressed while dragging you swap both clips.

Use the track select tool to move tracks around. I don’t think you can automatically create a lower track, but it is easy enough to do it manually by right-clicking on the track header.

Unfortunately, the track select tool didn’t move the tracks up and down. It only works with the clips inside the track. What I want to do is physically move the entire track up and down in between other tracks.

Any other ideas? Am I doing it incorrectly?

    Thanks for the help!

You can create an empty track above or below the current track by right clicking the track header, choosing ‘Add Track’ and picking the placing option of your choice from the three offered.

Yeah. Thanks. I was hoping there was an easier way by just dragging and dropping the clips or just dragging the actual tracks around. No worries. I guess I’m just being lazy! 😉

Now after 9 years is it still the same? no way to move tracks around? This is ridiculous 🙁

In Vegas you simply click and drag. Same as layers in Photoshop. I’m trying to get fluent with PPro as Vegas is terrible at previewing 4k proxies, but it’s things like this that really put me off PP. It’s over-complicated and slows the workflow.
