Moving vegas presets to new system
I’m getting a brand new Vegas workstation from Puget Systems computers in Kent Washington.
I have saved text presets, compression presets, configuration favorites etc.
Can anyone recommend and efficient method to transfer my Vegas customization to the new system (version 8)?

You can use the Sony Preset Manager 2.0 to transfer any audio presets pretty easily. For video presets, you must manually place them into an FX Package for the Preset Manager to see them. Then you must manually remove them and rename them on the target PC. Not efficient or eloquent but kind the “only game in town”. As for preferences you are just out of luck. There is no way I know to transfer them.

What about saved generated text from the original titler?
I have a lot of specific text that I reuse often. I cannot even find where these are stored…THanks

You can use the Preset Manager to move those as well but you can’t build a chain so they have to be moved one at a time.
I would recommend that you create a new project and drop one of each text into the project. Then copy the project to the other computer and save them one at a time. This is the easiest way.

I know I’m replying to an old thread but I’m having similar issues.
I have sony vegas 9 on my old computer Vista professional which is networked with my new computer windows 7.
I’m running the trial version of sony vegas 11 on the new computer to test it out before buying it.
I have tried using the preset manager to transfer my presets for Brightness And Contrast and Colour correction.
When I open the fx packages that I have copied over. I open a package on an event and the brightness and contrast opens but without my old presets.
Am I making a mistake in the transfer??
