Im currently editing a faux news broadcast and hit upon a snag. Ive imported the complete footage into the time line and split it into a few different segments. As the report goes on I want to be able to shift the footage (keyed out) to the left and right to make space for pictures relating to the script.

For some reason, between the footage being on the left, and then cutting directly back to the footage being centred FCPS2 seems to put in a frame where the footage is just left of centre. This means that rather than a straight cut, it looks like to footage moves from the left to the centre.
There are no keyframes to delete so I’m a bit puzzled… anyone have any ideas?

    Many thanks
    Gary

Such inquiries often imply a less than complete understanding of how effects are handled in FCP. How many video layers are you using?

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
