    hi there,

    i have a question,
i want to draw a stroke and record it! I basically know how to do it. New Layer > Solid > Effects > Paint > Write On
But my problem is: I want the stroke to disappear again after about a second, so it looks like it is erased again behind. So it looks like a moving stroke, with always the same lenght.
    Is this possible?

You might want to do a search under the creativecow.net after effects forum. I know this topic has come up dozens of times. But I use a totally different program to achieve stroke effects so I’ve never given it a whirl in AE.

You want to draw a line with the pen tool and use “stroke” instead of vector paint. Then you can animate the start and end to control the length of the stroke.
