HI. a question friends. hope you are having a great day.
I have been trying with no luck to achieve an, what I think is an easy, animation. I need to make the faces of a soccer ball to be out and then to come in place and a the soccer ball. I am able to do this by animating each face position, but I assume there is an easier way to accomplish this.
I have tried a plain effector, no luck
I have tried to clone it, but I can´t make the cloner to detect the polygons separated but the entire ball.

in the image below I show how all polygons should start, let say at second 0 and then at seconds 3 they need to be in the right place forming the soccer ball.
in this example I animated those 2 polygon by hand. o seconds image 1 and 5 second after image 2

    image 1

    image 2

I want to animate just one thing. no the 32 faces. it is so frustrating.
    thanks for any help

put all the parts of the ball into a Fracture object and use Mograph Effectors to move the pieces around – here’s an example using Push Apart and Random to rotate them but it is not the only way – just animated the effectors strength in the Fracture/Effectors tab but the effector’s parameters could be animated instead.

Put your null inside a fracture object. Change the mode to explode segments. Add a push apart effector to this Fracture. Change the falloff to something that suits you then animate the effectors position.

I’m sure you can pull that off with other effectors too (if you don’t have R18 with the push apart)
