I need to extend the length of a media element in the middle of my presentation. How do I move everything to the right of it so I can make room? I have both titles and media elements.

    Thanks,
    Greg

If I’m understanding you correctly, moving a whole block of clips and audio at one time are a feature of the Auto Ripple. It’s probably my most used feature but at the same time can mess you up faster than you can believe.
It’s the little gray and green icon with the arrow on top and is located on the top icon bar.

Let me add to what Roger stated about auto ripple. It can really make a mess of things especially if you have many tracks, events, keyframes, envelopes, etc on the timeline. Do yourself a huge favor and save the project under a different name first then try your hand at auto ripple. Place your scrub line where you would like to move the events in your time line. Zoom out and take a look at the overall tracks and events to see what you will be moving. If for example you have multiple tracks that are out of view you wont know what is being moved. There are three options with the auto ripple so check the help file to get a good understanding of what each does. Click and drag your media and watch to see what is being moved. Don’t forget however to be sure to select lock envelopes to events or you’ll make more work for yourself. PRACTICE WITH IT ON YOUR COPY…. There are other ways to do this but without seeing your timeline it is not easy to advise you in more detail. When in doubt make a copy and work on that.
