hey quick question, when i drag a layer from ps to ai, it goes into ai in a bunch of horizontal boxes, sometimes not retaining their alpha information…any way to get the images in w/o importing them in? thanks!

In Photoshop use script >> export layers to files and choose a format which supports transparnecy usch as : PSD, PDF, and maybe even TIF.

You can open the files, adn it will do the import and placing for you.

Hope this helps, as the drag and drop method does not recognize tranparency and the images are embedded rather than linked, so your ai will run and save slow.

working with any file that comes from PS and goes into illstrator is a little tricky. Best to stick with PSD or Tiff with alpha. also to place the PS file into Ill, simply used file/place. this way it holds onto the alpha channel. Drag and drop is a little weird i have had issued with doing that.
