I am fairly new to after effects. If anyone could help me out that would seriously help me out.
My first question is what is the best way to move from after effects to final cut hd. I found a few sites that set to save it as a final cut movie but they were for earlier versions of final cut I and I couldn

    HI,
I would still export from FCP HD as a ‘final cut movie’ Then import that into AE, added your effect, then export back to FCP HD.

[Burns S] “My second question is how do I get a moive file to look good on the computer. I shot some footage on 720x 480 setting on my camera, it sort of looked fuzzy when I had the footage at full screen. I figured that is because my computer is a high resolution than a tv. Is that right?”
Yes, that’s right. Depending on the codec you use, it can make a difference on the quality and look.

    Hey Todd,
thanks for the help. I am sorry i am really a newbie i guess. I am still stuck. I am able to get my Final cut movie to be a “Final cut express movie file” I can then open it in AE but as far as getting it back to Final cut i am stuck. I can see a lot of diffrent formats, such as avi, flash, mov, ect. I dont think its one of those but i am not sure. Thanks for your help

    Ah,
You want QuickTime movie, DV NTSC.

***NOTE*** This next section might be confusing.
I don’t use the DV NTSC for AE exports. I usually get artifacts and other little gliches. So, out of AE I will ‘make movie’ using QuickTime ‘Animation’. This way I get a high quality lossless file that I can use with other NLE, software, etc. BUT when you bring it into FCP it will need to be render before you can view it. And depending how you are using it in your program, it could need to be rendered with each edit. If it becomes a problem, then I will use FCP to create a ‘FCP Moive’ version of the AE file.

I’d try the DV NTSC first and see if it works for you.

    Good Luck,
