My editor is on Final Cut; I’m on CS3. I had hope to move over some files using a fat 32 usb external drive. I had hear that Macs will read fat 32. On hooking up the hard drive it froze up the Mac. We could not get it to stop doing this.

My editor said the IT guys at the post house had to do something with his external drive to get it to work with the Mac

    Any body got any clue?

We were able to move the files using a DVD and an EDL. Files popped up on the timeline.

    Hey,

One suggestion is to copy all of the files on the pc then re-format the external HDD back to Fat32 again. Then copy all of the files back onto the external HDD. Macs tend to have a problem with Fat32 when files are over 2GB also…
