Ok, thanks you have really bren a big help. Just one last question… how do you access your internal scopes in v7? Maybe it has changed and I just can’t find them, regardless of what the ted. guy said. (He said I would need symphony and they are no longer available in v7)

The way I always have. I got to color correction mode and change one of the three monitor views to one of the scope views. In my case, the one on the right.

Yes, little mention of scopes in MC7 but they are where they were previously: in the source/record monitor window title bar’s drop-down menu.
The Avid Learning Series, three volumes, has a section on media management, as does the book, Avid Agility, by Steven Cohen.
Regarding media management, one very interesting view–and it includes a detailed tutorial–is at Douglas at Gaijin-Eyes, https://www.gaijin-eyes.com/2014/2014_MediaManagement.html.
These tutorials, and his many others on MC, are not free but the cost is very reasonable–coffee at Starbucks for a couple of days– for a detailed, expert perspective. The site also approaches many other facets of MC and FX. With a Scottish accent! And the visual presentation is expert as well; they are much better than any other tutorials I have seen.

Thanks, I will check out the books and maybe the tutorials. I have seen quite a few tutorials but have always been hesitant to spend the money and follow their lead, not knowing if it is actually a good way to work. But, if you guys recommend this particular one, it must be ok!

Have you tried doing a fast import? The files out of FCP are Pro Res, and you are on a Mac – correct?
Do you need them to convert to DNX?Glenn

Yes, I am on a mac, they are Pro Res and I am converting to DNX. I just tried an import and it seems to work. Is a “fast import” any different than going to import under File?
