Moving clip in window?
I am realativly new to FCP. I feel like I should be able to move video up down left right in the sequence window or another window using the mouse but can find no tool that does this. Am I missing something?

Yes…you are mising the basics. Look in the MOTION tab in the Viewer. Once you drop the clip in the timeline, park your playhead on it and double click it to load it into the viewer. Now play with SCALE and CENTER. If you click on the + you can manually drag it.
Need more help…the manual covers this well. As does the tutorial.
