    Newbie question:

Can I move an AVID MC 3.0 project back and forth between a PC and a MAC?

I’m working on a film with another person who’s started the project on a PC. The media is stored to an external drive. I’m wondering if I can bring this drive to my Mac (also with MC3.0 installed), cut here, then bring the drive back over to the PC to continue, etc?

If trading back and forth is not possible (or is a bad idea), can I simply move the project over to a Mac Platform (not going back to PC)?

Thanks in advance for any help–

Yes, you should be able to move the project back and forth with no problems.

    Hello,
I am going through the same process with a project that started on pc, avid MC 2.8. I now have to continue editing on a mac pro with avid MC 3.1. I created a new project on the mac with the same title as the one on pc, and then copied all the avid media files from the external HD to my internal Harddrive but not the bin info yet, as I don’t know where to put them directly on mac.
Also on the external harddrive there is no such folder as OMF files to copy.
I don’t know how to proceed after this point.
I usually use FCP, but now am struggling with avid.
Thank you for any suggestion you can come up with.
    Best,
    Berke
