So I just switched from Final Cut Suck to Premiere Pro.

I cannot figure out why I cannot drag my audio to different tracks like I can with FCP7.

Also I cannot scroll up and down the timeline window with my scrollwheel like I can with FCP7.

Can someone please help me figure these issues?

    thanks!!

Audio tracks are different in Premiere Pro. I had the exact same question when I was first switching. Check out this video in which I ask Karl Soule the same question: https://tv.adobe.com/watch/switching-to-adobe-premiere-pro-cs5/audio-/

Sorry, but the scroll wheel works for scrolling the timeline left to right, not to scroll vertically. If you’d like an option to change the scroll wheel to scrolling vertically, fill out a feature request: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish

Holding the alt-key makes the scroll wheel zoom in and out.

With the mouse over the vertical slider of the timeline panel the scroll wheel scrolls up and down.

If you place the cursor of over the scroll bar the wheel will work. Doesn’t make sense but that’s how it works in Premiere at this time.

Also use “~” key on the timeline works great for seeing everything

For a maximum vertical view, i find myself using the tilde key “~” to make the timeline full screen and then toggling it back. However, I have multiple monitors.

Here’s a video that I made about audio tracks and the common confusions about them:
