    Hi,

Is it possible to animate an object not using frames, but fields. Say I want to move an object to left by 5 pixels for the odds, then 5 pixels more for the evens. Is that even possible in another software?

    Thanks

It is not possible (as far as I know) to preview fields, but it is very easy to render so that you get interlaced animation. You set it up in “Render Settings” after you add your comp to render queue.
Simply select the option to render fields. Select the field order you want and you’re done.

well i know that if you place a 29.97 fps interlaced into a 59.94 fps or basically double the comp fps, AE will give each field there own frame you can look at. I don’t know if this helps exactly.
