    hello,

How do I move the entire contents of a track WITH the track keyframe data? Every time I try to do this I get the events, but the track keyframe data stays put on the track.

What I want to do is move all the events a few frames ahead with their respective keyframes.

Is there a keystroke to move all track events with their track keyframes?

    Paul

A couple of ways to do this:

    (1) Toggle Auto Ripple on with the Affected Tracks, Bus Tracks, Markers and Regions option. (Ctrl+L or Options > Auto Ripple)

    (2) If you need to move everything in every track in a project, change the Ripple option to All Tracks, Markers and Regions -or- you can Insert > Time, which is in the form of hh:mm:ss;ff (hours:minutes:seconds;frames).

While I have had Vegas for over a year and rendered a few projects with it, I have never even bothered to find out what that Ripple function was. In fact, just last week while working on my current project (BOOly The Ghost) I was thinking to myself that I really should just sit down and learn to use every part of this application so I can know what all these toolbar buttons do.

But, when I upload BOOly you’ll see I’ve actually come pretty far with it.

But it’s just funny (and kinda sad) that I stared at that icon this whole time and never took the few minutes to learn what it did. WOW.

    Thanks, Eric – again.

Hehe, ripple editing is really a very core professional function, but get ready with Ctrl+Z because it’s going to do all kinds of nutso things to your entire timeline when you forget it’s toggled on. Definitely a very powerful tool that can create some powerful chaos with just a click! Doh!
