I am trying to have a word follow a path beginning with the first letter with the others following in order. Do I need a separate animator for each letter? Can’t figure out how to do this with Start/End, Offset, Range selector,…

    Thanks

if i understand correctly what you want to do, this is pretty easy. you only need one text layer, and one animator.

    1) create your text layer with your word(s).
    2) draw a mask path on your text layer
    3) set your path options so that the text is on the mask path
    4) adjust your first/last margin as needed
    5) add a position animator to your text layer
    6) adjust the animator’s horizontal position. you should see your text move along the path
    7) keyframe animate the start or end of your range selector, depending on which horizontal direction you want your text to animate.
    8) go into the range selector advanced settings and make sure your range selector shape is square and that the animation is based on characters or characters excluding spaces, so that your text animates one character at a time.

There should be a text animation preset for the style of animation you are looking to do.

    Ugg,
Thank you. But the path is curved like the letter “C”. The text is upsidedown and backwards at the beginning/bottom of the “C” shaped path and correct at the end. How do I get the characters to be correct at the beginning? I am missing something. I thought I could set them to always face the camera but I can’t seem to find that option.

    Thanks,

    Clif
