I’m done with a thirty minute short and when I go to FILE – EXPORT – QT MOVIE…i use the correct codec for my 720 24pn movie, it’s a DVCPro HD 720p60…when I export it and open the QT file, it shows that it stops at 12minutes and 20seconds. I’ve also gone thru FILE-EXPORT-COMPRESSOR and it works just fine. And the same goes for FILE-EXPORT-QT CONVERSION, using the correct codec and it works.

I had this problem before and I’ve deleted rendered files, trash my preference files via larry jordan’s website, reboot and it has worked in the past…but now, it will not export m whole movie. here’s my set-up…any ideas

    FRAME SIZE: 960×720
    ASPECT RATIO: HD(960×720) (16:9)
    PIXEL ASPECT RATIO: HD (960×720)
    EDITING TIMEBASE 23.98
QT VIDEO SETTINGS > COMPRESSOR > DVCPRO HD 720p60

    my project setup is:

    FORMAT: HD
    RATE: 23.98 fps
    USE: DVCPRO HD-720p24

Have you tried just using “Current Settings”

when you say “current setting” you mean when i go to FILE – EXPORT – QT MOVIE and the dialog box opens up and it shows me the tab “current setting” – i do not touch that tab since it’s set at the codec dvcpro 720p60

Are you exporting it to to your system drive or an external? If it an external is the drive formated Fat32? If it is Fat32 then you may be hitting the file size limit of Fat32.

There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.

no it should not say anything other than “Current setting” don’t click on it. Also you want your exported video to have the frame rate of 23.98, the Compressor setting you listed is for video out (playback) but that is not what your setting should be for exporting a file via QT or Compressor (the program).

I was having this problem yesterday myself and this was exactly it. The external HD is FAT32. The resolution is to save the file to your internal hard drive and then move the file. On my post further down, someone suggested that I back up all of the info on my external HD and then reformat the drive for MACOS Not Journaled. He said this would solve any future problems with trying to export large files to this external drive.
