Movie file not connecting
I recently installed Final Cut Studio on a Macbook (not Pro) as an interim solution for editing daily projects for a new job.
This is the first project I’ve tried opening on the new setup – one that I started on my work’s MBP.
There are 2 sequences with multicam. I copied all the data files, reference tracks, and render files, along with the project file over to my Passport drive to edit off of, and I when I go to open the project, it searches through every movie file saying “Searching for data in movie file”. This for one thing is an issue in itself because it’s taking FOREVER to open.
The other problem is that when it gets to “MVI_3631-5D/7D…” it gives me an error message saying it can’t find the file. I search for it and it’s there, but it’s grayed out and won’t let me select it. I’ve tried canceling and reconnecting the file after the fact and it still won’t let me select that file. The file plays back fine in finder, but FCP won’t recognize it.
I’ve searched through previous threads and didn’t find any answers. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
