Yes…I’m sure it won’t explode. (Although that would be an interesting scene to film…)

But the reason I haven’t tried that is because I don’t want to have it “sort of” work and then run into problems down the line. Come on, Rafael, give it up: Have you done this? Does it work?

And if my machine explodes, I’m blaming you.

Till no long ago the only way to keep old preferences was to save somewhere a set of “clean preferences” and replace the one in the FCs Preference Folder.
I guess will work. I don’t think will be much difference, if any, between the preferences in FC 6 and 7. FC 7 is mostly an update.
i don’t see any risk in trying this. If it doesn’t works, just trash them and let FC build a new set.

You could try saving first version prefs with Preference Manager then restoring to the new FCP version. I have no idea if this will work, but it’s a handy program and works with most, if not all, the programs in FCS.
