Nope Mike, nesting is in fact the way to do that, as you were originally trying. Don’t know why it’s creating an issue for you however.

December 10, 2008 at 4:44 pmShane said that FCP will not do this. Can this be done? If so, how? What I am doing now is:
A. Highlight militple clips
B. Nest Clips
C. Problem is, when I go to the motion tab it has no effect.Do you have any suggestions?
Do I apply motion to the single nested clip or do I go to the new sequence where the clips are seperated to attempt the motion. Can you tell me how you would do this.

September 8, 2012 at 10:56 amI am having the same problem… I know this thread is old, I’m using Final Cut Studio 2 any solutions or other threads dealing with this? (it is really hard to search for help on this)

December 12, 2012 at 10:59 pmThe problem you guys are having is that double clicking the newly made nested sequence doesnt open it in the viewer to modify the motion tab, so what you need to do is right-click on the desired nest and click “open in viewer”.
