.mov w/ Alpha
Using Vegas 10.0c (build 470)
a HD 1080-60i (1920×1080, 29.970 fps) project with 6 images (a simple test)
Rendering using QuickTime7, VASST(GrafPak) HD 1280×720-30p Video Overlay with:
Field order: None (progressive)
Pixel aspect ratio: 1.000
Video format: PNG
Compressed depth: 32 bpp
Quality: Highwhen pressing Save, Render completes in seconds and only a .mov.sfl is created. No .mov file created.
What am I doing wrong?

Saving only saves the project file (*.veg) so make sure you select Render instead.

That’s what I just said. Save (from the File Render As) dialog … all that is created is a .mov.sfl file. Where’s the .mov file?

I also tried Video for Windows (*.avi). However, in the Custom Settings dialog, the line:
—> Render alpha channel (uncompressed video formats only)is disabled. Thus, I can’t render an avi file with an alpha channel.
How do I get the alpha channel line enabled?

Make sure you don’t have a tiny loop region selected, especially if the Render loop region only box is selected in the Render dialog.
Either make sure all events are selected or deselect this option. -
It makes no difference if a region is selected or not.
1. Why is .mov.sfl file created and the .mov file missing?
Also, if I use File Render As, Video for Windows (*.avi), Custom … the Render Alpha channel option is disabled.
2. How do I get this option enabled?

If you’re going to an AVI file, you choose “Uncompressed” for the alpha option to become active.
