Hi friends: We need to deliver to Vubiquity in MPEG2 format mpg. Our source content is XDCAM. We have tried a number of different products which purported to make the conversion but nevertheless don’t fit the billing (Divx, Movani).

Is there an inexpensive, reliable solution?

We typically use MPEG Streamclip for tasks like this but since we are using OSX Lion, there is drama with the MPEG2 codec in that release (don’t bother looking…it’s a time vampire).

    Thanks for any guidance.

Have you tried Sony Catalyst Browse? (which is FREE!) It will read XDCAM files and allow you to transcode them to a variety of formats including Apple ProRes 422. Then you can use Apple Compressor ($49 USD) to convert the ProRes files to MPEG2.
