.mov import Avidxpress
Posted by Wendell Davis on November 12, 2010 at 11:02 pmI gave a friend DV .MOV files I captured in FCP Studio. Her AvidXpress version 3.5.4 will not even see them let alone import them. Hr manuel says it can import .MOV. Would highly appreciate and suggestions.

November 13, 2010 at 12:02 amIf you export them as mov files using the animation codec or a Avid codec, she’ll be able to import them.

November 13, 2010 at 10:18 amJust download (for free) and install: https://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=372311
My best guess is that you are using some codec on the FCP side that the receiving partner does not have on their system.
When you install the Avid codec on your end, it will save them import time on their end, as .mov files in the Avid codec will fast import into Avid (as no transcoding would be required anymore).
