I’ve recently had to reinstall Vegas 8.0b back on my computer after it was sent off for repairs, and that’s when it all started. First I tried to capture video from a mini DV camera and it kept giving me “Error code 0x800705aa (message missing)” “The current device has had a communication failure. Please dismiss this dialog box, and then cycle the power on the device” After this comes up I do, in fact, still have the .avi files on my computer, just not stored into the vegas project. In order for me to resume my project though, I have to exit Vegas, and go back in…what’s going on????

Also, on more thing. My mouse wheel no longer zooms in on the timeline. Call me spoiled, but I can’t do without it. Does anyone know how to fix this? All the settings for the mouse are correct and this is the same mouse I used before the computer crashed!

    Can anyone help me???

I could be a Windows problem. Can you go back to a recoverypoint made at the time Vegas (and other programs?) were still working normal?

I can’t. It worked before I sent it off, twice, to be repaired. They reformatted the hard-drive…twice. Besides getting a new computer, I don’t know what to do. I did’t know if there was a work-around or not.

    Thanks Theo
