    Lately when I boot up my dual 867 G4 the mouse is stuck in the upper left corner. I cannot get it to respond. My desktop appears to be operating fine but the mouse aint workin’ Any ideas? -J

    Seems like a stupid low level corruption,
    something like 1 byte in some mouse driver software that’s gone kaput.

    If you try to boot from an OS CD, and don’t have the same problem (so you’re sure it’s not hardware mouse or trackpad related)
    Then it looks like a full re-install of the OS is all you can do to get out of this.

    Have you tried unplugging the mouse and plugging it back in to the same or a different USB port, or tried another mouse?

    The Apple mouse that shipped with the some G4s is prone to develop a short in its cable, where it connects to body of the mouse.

    This makes them prone to “freezing” and other erratic behavior.
