Motion X
Excited to hear the news of a new version of Final Cut Pro X coming out by the end of this year yet no news of what they have planned for Motion. Would really like to see a new version of it as well. Could it be integrated into the new FCP X or is it going to get updated anytime soon?

Not sure what you mean – Motion 5 is already deeply integrated into FCP X – all the effects, transitions, titles, and generators that FCP X contains in its Browsers were created with Motion 5. Perhaps you are requesting a roundtripping feature like we had in Motion 4/FCP 7?

I think he’s suggesting that Motion might become part of the FCPX application, which I don’t think is very likely at all.

Not likely, I agree, but it’s also something that needs to be strenuously resisted by anyone who is a serious user of Motion.
This suggestion that Apple should fold Motion into FCP has been around for years and I can’t think it would be anything but a disaster for what is a great standalone product. A combined product would almost certainly have a lot less functionality than the current version of Motion and that would be a great shame.

All I can say is that I am hoping for and looking forward to whatever they might do with Motion.
Wouldn’t it be great if they do come out with ‘Motion X’ and take it to a new level?
Though they did some cool stuff with 5, I have a feeling (nothing more) that they have some really interesting things in mind going forward and will release ‘Motion X’ as soon as they are able. I hope it is in conjunction with the big update to FCP X in the next couple weeks.
