  • Motion Tracking workflow when track point leaves viewport?

This may be a silly question but is there a good workflow to track some footage where a track point leaves the boundaries of the comp? For example, where the subject moves into the scene on the left, move across the scene and then leaves on the right and I want my object that I want to track into this scene ‘follow’ the subject in and out of view.

Should I create two or three seperate track points and then corresponding nuls to track different parts of the footage? And then duplicate the object I want to track in? Or is there a simpler way?

    Thanks in advance!

Mocha handles this very well as long as you can track other areas that are in the same plane and remain in view.
So it would work for a picture frame on a wall if you include other parts of the wall in the track, but not so well for example a hand that’s moving out of frame.
