    Hi,

I haven’t used motion tracking much. Wondering if motion tracking the scale of an object is the same as tracking motion w motion tracker? I need to fix an alpha clip to an object in a video which is growing larger.
I looked for a tutorial but was unable to find one regarding scale.

    Thanks!

( Initially I was going to manually track but that just might take too long )

When you’re tracking scale, you need to track multiple (at least two) points, so it’s a bit more complex than just tracking position.

Thank you Todd.I think it might be difficult then using motion tracking.
My shot is this: Dark sunglasses with a slow zoom in to CU reflection, car is exploding in the reflection while zooming in.

I’m trying to figure out best solution. The alpha channel vid clip= explosion.
Maybe I should use a mask, setting parameters w keyframes?

Since the camera is zooming in, you will need it to scale and track and you will need a mask of some kine. I’d try tracking it off of the corners of the sunglasses (although that might be tricky depending on the composition of the shot, the shape of the glasses, the bg, etc.)
