Hi! I’m shooting a footage where a person holds a square with track points. The question is this: AE has in motion tracking two squares, one to put inside the track point and the other outside the track point. As AE has this two squares, I think it’s better for motion tracking to make the track points as circles, not as squares. What do you think? I hope I’ve explained me clearly. Thanks in advance…

You could also use triangles. Different softwares and folks have different preferences. I prefer something with a sharp edge.

I also like a sharp edge, so that you can really choose a specific point to track.

One shape I’ve seen on tracking markers is a triangle within a circle, which could be the best of both worlds, perhaps?
