So I had this idea of motion tracking some footage then I would create a mask on said video. Afterwards I would pickwhip the mask path to the motion tracking info and ta da i would get a mask which follows my shaky camera movement. But instead I get an error, so my questions are: is it possible to give a mask the motion tracking info? why do I get an error?

If you do not want to use Mocha and you want to do it in AE, then you can draw a shape on a shape layer, apply the track data to that layer and then use it as a track matte.

I tried what you said but it didn’t work. I receive the same message. Basically I want to be able to isolate a part of the video using a mask and keep it isolated by using the motion tracking info.

Here’s a video that shows using motion tracking to make a mask follow an object.
