    Hey forum,

I know it’s still not possible to perform automatic 2D motion tracking in Sony Vegas wich is a pity…. Makes video editors want to switch to after effects or final cut….

So my question is: wouldn’t it be a huge advantage to have some kind of integrated motion tracking plugin inside SV or at least a bezier tracking curve? (just like a mask does). At least rotoscoping would look better…

Though I can use Mocha or a 3d party motion tracking device it’s a pain in the butt to select a propper export extension. An alpha background leaves a coloured edge to the new rendered object when chroma keying it, and a flat rendered video is bad because you can’t adjust anything.

So what are your ideas about a sony vegas pro 10 with motion tracking?

it would be nice to see, but alas… manual track motion and keyframes….

Yes well, I heard of boris fx/red, but does it export the motion track data to sony vegas as keyframes so you can apply the motion keyframes to different objects (like text) as after effects does?

Cause exporting an AVi file from boris and then re-adjust it and then render it again is kind of unconventional, not mentioning the need to keep switching between two programs…

Call me lazy, but it ‘would’ be handy if Sony vegas 10/11 would have integrated motion tracking right?

And btw, nice to meet a proffesional dutch video editor =D. (holland hollee!)

    cheers!

Life’s good. yeah, I know. I’m not good in filosofy but er, life’s good.

Boris FX/RED act as a plugin in Vegas (although RED can also function as a stand alone), so there is no need to export as AVI from Red and import again into Vegas.

There actually is now support for mocha’s planar tracking import into Sony Vegas 10.

Check out Imagineer/Boris bundle: Motion Tracking for Editors software bundle.
