    Hey Guys,

Just wondering if there’s a way to set-up audio pan based on motion tracking.

For example; if you had a car driving from the left side of the screen to the right with the sound of the car following it.
Is their an expression in AE that could do this?

I’m fairly new to after-effects and creative-cow, so don’t hit me if I’m asking something silly.
It’s just been bothering me to find out.

    Hi there,

Yes, you can set up and Expression quite easily that will link the Motion Tracking Position (or Anchor Point) property to the Stereo Mixer effect’s Left Pan and Right Pan properties. Use the Pickwhip to link the properties together. Then, if you need to adjust the range used you can use the Linear expression to do so.

Here’s a tutorial that shows how to use the Linear Expression. Although this one links Time Remapping to the Audio Levels property, it’s the same process, just substitute the different properties.

    Hope this helps.
