I’m currently exploring illustration on video at the moment but am confused how to keep the illustration in the same location in the video footage. I’m not brillant at explaining things so theres a piece of footage here – https://www.adamgault.com/ if you click on the number two. How would i go about use motion tracker to produce something like that? Any help would be appreciated happy christmas.

Sorry i dont think i phrased that right.

I have a piece of video footage of a city thats panning left.
I want to use the paint tool to draw an illustration over it, but want it to stay on the exact position on the video footage. So my problem is that when that frame moves my illustration isn’t in line with the building i want. Is there an easier way of doing it than using thousands of position keyframes which make it look jerky.

You are right – you have to use motion tracking. Unless its a steady panning motion – then it would easy to keyframe.

I can’t remember if there’s some help to get from after effects helpfile. Sorry I can’t be more precise but I’m not at a computer with after effects at the moment.
