    Hello,

I am trying to put a video clip inside of a billoard while the camera moves around the comp…but i can’t seem to get the tracking to work. I click on the “track motion”, than use “perspective corner” and mark the 4 corners of the billoard. When i press “analyze”, the 4 points move with the camera motion. what am i doing wrong?

    thanks!

Before we get into the motion track thing, are you the owner of this video? If yes, then with what software did you did it? Because if you did this video, it would have been a lot more easier to put your video in the blank area of the monitor instead of tracking it after you rendered it.

    Just a thought.

What Justin is referring to is:

It would have been a lot easier to put your video into the billboard before swinging the camera around (if you are the creator of the short clip). You would not need to motion track it if you made the clip.

I am assuming you found the clip somewhere?

You are going to have a tough time motion tracking it since it does not all start within view, and part of it goes out of view at the end. You can still do it by guessing manually. There is a command to tell the tracker to continue on its present course. I am not sure of the name, or wether it would work in this case.

oh…i got ya.duh… I don’t know why i didn’t try that….I just got done watching the “seriouse effects & compositing” video and figured tracking would be so easy…like it seem on the video! i knew there was some easy way….dang i actually did it another hard way by doing a Luma matt with the billboard but now the video bleeds through the grey frame. I will try the easy way now!

    thanks!
