Motion tracker ?
Trying to replace a round table top on the back of a moving vehicle with another one just different logo. When I do a motion track then apply it to my graphic the graphic is not where I want it. I’ve watched the tutorial numerous times by Andrew Kramer about sky replcement and all he does is go back to the first frame and adjust the position of the sky then for the rest of the clip it is adjusted. When I do this the only frame that is correct is the one I adjust the next frame the graphic moves back to the wtong spot. I don’t use AE much so I’m sure it’s just me being dense. Using AE6.5 pro. I’ve read the manual on tracking but I still need help. Thanks

You need to select all of the position/anchor point keyframes that the motion tracker created when you applied it. Then make sure that your playhead is on a frame that currently has a keyframe (otherwise this process will just create a new keyframe) use ‘j’ on your keyboard to go to the previous visible keyframe and ‘k’ to go to the next visible keyframe. Now drag the position values in the timeline or in the comp window to adjust all of them while keeping their relative positions.
The other way to do this effectively would have been to create a null object and apply the motion tracker to it, then parent the layer you want to follow the tracker to the null object. This would allow you to adjust the relative position of that layer without having to mess with any keyframes. This technique would not work with rotation tracking unless you had the null at the center of the rotation.
