Motion track crack on the wall in After Effects
Hello, there!
I’m making a video about risk areas in slums and I did some animated lines to reinforce what the interviewee is talking about.
I lined some pipes, garbage and street light using motion track with no problem.
However, I have a scene where the camera follows a huge crack on the wall, and I want to make a line that follows this crack.
The problem is that the start point and the ending point of the camera don’t have any commom point that I can track.
I’ve already tried to do it frame to frame, but the result sucks.
Can anyone help me, please.

Mocha should be able to track this. Try pausing the track, extending your tracking region and then continuing the track every time you’re about to run out of trackable area. There are more sophisticated ways to do that, which tutorials cover, but that is the quick and dirty way and it often works.
