Motion Text and Cameras
G’day Guys,
I have a question that I have been trying to solve, but can’t seem to figure out.
I have animated a scene in Motion with a bunch of camera moves. Now I need to place a text overlay on top (like subtitles on a TV show). Normally I’d just create a text layer and plonk it on top of all my other layers. Unfortunately the camera moves affect the text and I can;t figure out a way of keeping the text static on top of my current animation.
Is there a way of achieving this without exporting the movie and adding the titles in post? It would greatly simplify the project if I could animate the text layer and the camera moves in the one project.

Just put the text layer in a 2D group at the top level. These groups aren’t affected by lights or cameras.

Brilliant. I just flicked the 3D layer option off and re-aligned the layer. Worked like a treat.
