Motion shuts down when I try to cast shadows
I posted this problem a while back but got no response. I’ll try again here.
I’m using Motion 4 and trying to make a graphic that looks like this:

My idea was to have the camera move around the logo once it’s created. But I’m stuck with a problem. I can create my logo, background, lights etc. But when I click to add shadows to my spotlight (in order for the logo to cast shadows) the whole thing freezes up and then shuts down.
I’ve tried restarting, rebooting and reloading Motion. Nothing seems to help. I’m still having the same issue.
Any thoughts?

Jay Burgess you seam to have a problem.
I’ve been you spot before too. Since casting shadows it soo hard it very hard for you computer to do. My best suggestion is to break up you video into little nuggets. Then you can add shadows, and export a small piece at a time. I’m sorry, it’s just the life a complicated video rendering!
