Whenever I have 2 or more layers using paricle emitters and/or behaviors, Motion gets stuck playing the timeline and will not respond to any commands I give it.
I have waited sometimes 10min or more until it seems to “catch up” and then becomes responsive again. This is on an NTSC SD timeline.

Is my system/graphics card (see below) just not up to what it needs or is there something else I need to check?

    thanks

    Greg

I’ve got 2 20″ Cinema displays and an ATI Radeon X800 XT and I get the same thing. Annoying as hell, but I think the only way to get around it is to have a top of the line graphics card, and only use one display, and then it might fix it.

Yes, you need a beefier machine if you are going to use particles. You will never get satisfactory particles performance using that video card.
